Stem cell banking cryogenically preserves stem cells at their most potent state for later use in medical applications. The quality, potency and quantity of a patients stem cells can be affected by different variables such as the patients age, weight and current health at the time of collection.

The optimal age to bank stem cells is between the ages of 20 and 40, however, its more important to consider a patients health at the time of banking rather than their age. For example, a healthy 65-year-old who is fit and well may have the physiology of a 50-year-old. Whereas a younger patient with various medical concerns may have lower quality stem cells.
