Ann Arbors Forever Labs, a longevity company focused on the storage of adult stem cells for future health and wellness needs, has announced its laboratory has obtained the worlds first International Organization for Standardization (ISO) accreditation for the human biobanking of stem cells.

This certification means that Forever Labs clients can rest assured that from beginning to end, their cells are upheld to the highest standards of quality and safety that only an ISO accreditationcan bring, says Ann Hozeska-Solgot, lab director at the company.

The ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 164 national standards bodies. It brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.

The accreditation requires extensive testing and documentation of the laboratory facilities, biobank processes, and storage space. The testing period on-site takes place over three days. The information then undergoes committee review for accreditation approval.
